Whatcom County tribes, two groups receive more than $2.6 million to help salmon

Whatcom County tribes, government and nonprofits are being awarded more than $2.6 million to protect endangered salmon and restore their habitat here.

The grants are part of more than $12 million in state and federal funding dispersed by the Washington State Salmon Recovery Funding Board for projects throughout the state.
