Statement on 2021 NAFWS National Annual Conference

August 16, 2021 – At the NAFWS Board of Directors meeting in June 2021 the decision was made to have an in person NAFWS National Annual Conference. At this time, we are still planning on having our National Conference in person, October 4-7, 2021 in Spokane, WA. We are excited to have the Kalispel Tribe of Indians as our host Tribe at their beautiful Northern Quest Resort and Casino. We recognize there are many variables beyond our control during these crazy times and will continue to stay in constant contact with the Kalispel Tribe and the Northern Quest Resort and Casino. We WILL be in person unless the Tribe or Casino asks us to cancel. With that said, we want to do everything in our powers to make sure we have an enjoyable and SAFE event, therefore, we strongly urge all who plan to attend to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Please consider these recommendations as you make your decision about attending the NAFWS National Annual Conference in person:

  • Complete COVID-19 Vaccination at least 2 weeks prior to attending
  • Follow your Tribe’s guidelines and recommendations regarding COVID-19 and traveling
  • Mask up!
  • Practice Social Distancing and Hand Hygiene
  • If you feel ill, STAY HOME!

NAFWS plans to follow Tribal, State and CDC guidance, including masking and social distancing. In addition, all participants will be REQUIRED to sign a liability waiver regarding COVID-19 prior to attending.

Let’s all continue to do our part and pray for better days.
