NAFWS is proud to announce that we are cohosting three Hazardous Materials/WMD Awareness Courses in partnership with the Alabama Fire College. The 10 hour course taught via Zoom by Alabama Fire College’s Workplace Safety Training program is free to attend.

Additional trainings are scheduled for March 9-10. Classes begin at 10:30am EST / 9:30am CST / 8:30am GMT / 7:30am PST.

Event Description

This course is intended for Tribal members and employees, law enforcement personnel, firefighters, hazardous materials incident responders, environmental protection employees, EMA & EMS personnel, housing and maintenance personnel and caseworkers.

The course will take place via Zoom and consists of two 5 hour days. The following topics will be covered:

  • Federal Regulations Regarding Hazmat Response
  • Hazard Recognition and Identification
  • Hazard Risk Assessment and Outcomes
  • Actions to be Taken by Awareness Responders

This course is provided through an NIEHS grant and in partnership with NAFWS. It is open to public sector emergency responders and all Tribal members.

Event Details

Each training consists of two 5hr classes. Classes begin at 10:30am EST / 9:30am CST / 8:30am GMT / 7:30am PST.

Courses will take place:

  • January 26-27
  • February 23-24
  • March 9-10
