June 12 & 13, 2023 in Durango, CO
The Native American Fish and Wildlife Society is excited to announce our Wildlife Crossing Program in- person two-day Workshop June 12 & 13th in Durango, Colorado made possible through the Western Rural Communities, a program of Resources Legacy Fund supported by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. This workshop is intended for Tribal Fish and Wildlife Professionals who are intending to apply for the Wildlife Crossing Pilot program this year or the following years. If you are an employee of a federal or state agency or non-Tribal 501c3, please contact Shailyn Wiechman for further information on how you can be involved or partner. At this time, we are prioritizing in-person registrations and will consider a virtual option closer to the date and dependent on demand. Please limit registration to two representatives per Tribe or Tribal Organization.
The workshop day will consist of technical assistance on grant writing, reviewing, portal assistance, sharing wildlife crossing expertise, etc. Our second day will be a half-day field trip to visit the Southern Ute Tribe Wildlife Crossing project.
This opportunity was created in partnership with the support of National Parks Conservation Association, Animal Road Crossing, Center for Large Landscape Conservation, Wildlands Network, and the Federal Highways Administration.
