2026 Southeast Regional Conference
Hosted by the Poarch Creek Indians
CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS: The 2026 NAFWS Southeast Regional Conference in Foley, Alabama, brought Tribal representatives, conservation professionals, and partners together for two days of learning, sharing, and connection. Presentations highlighted Tribal conservation work across the Southeast, including wildlife monitoring, species vulnerability, invasive species management, Atlantic sturgeon and Osceola turkey conservation, endangered deer, and efforts to protect sacred rivers.
The conference concluded with a field trip to Graham Creek Nature Preserve and a Wildlife Health Management Plan Workshop, providing opportunities to explore local habitats and discuss strategies for strengthening Tribal wildlife health planning. NAFWS thanks the Poarch Band of Creek Indians for their hospitality and all of the Tribal representatives, presenters, and partners who contributed to a valuable exchange of knowledge and experience.
