The purpose of this committee is to support Tribal fish and wildlife professionals as they plan, conduct, and share research. The committee provides guidance on best practices, Tribal data sovereignty, funding and publishing opportunities, professional growth, and working effectively with academic partners.
We have been having a lot of discussions around research in Indian Country, including TEK, authorship, IRBs, data ownership/protection, etc. We are also seeing an increase in requests from Members asking for assistance accessing scientific literature.
