40-hour CLEO Training

Co-hosted by:

Native American Fish and Wildlife Society

The NAFWS is sponsoring a 40-hour CLEO training event at the BIA Southwest Regional Office, Albuquerque, NM, the week of July 21-25, 2025. The agenda will be focused on legal updates, wildlife health crime scene scenarios, evidence collection, report writing, case presentations, live-fire and virtual firearms training.

The training will be available for up to 12 CLEOs and limited to 1 officer per Tribe. If there are multiple CLEOs from the same Tribe that are interested in attending, they will be added to a waiting list and NAFWS will determine who the final participants will be. Our recruitment focus is the NAFWS Southwest Region, however we will also consider participation from other NAFWS Regions where possible.
