Wetlands Mapping on Tribal Lands: Opportunities and Funding

The Native American Fish & Wildlife Society (NAFWS) and USFWS are pleased to announce a webinar on Wetlands Mapping on Tribal Lands: Opportunities and Funding with Emilia Bartnick, an assistant wetland coordinator with the National Wetlands Inventory. This webinar will discuss NWI’s improved capacity to enhance mapping on tribal land and the multitude of benefits that mapping and digital dataset creation has for tribes.  The wetland geospatial dataset integrates digital map data along with other resource information to produce current information on the status, extent, characteristics and functions of wetlands, riparian, and deepwater habitats and can be a strong foundation for wetland program development. This presentation will also cover the EPA’s Tribal Wetland Program Development Grants and how NWI can help support Tribes in the grant application process.

The webinar will take place May 23, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. MDT

In Recognition of Their Support

The Native American Fish and Wildlife Society would like to thank those organizations that provided us with support over the years. With them we grew an effective national communications network for the exchange of information and management techniques related to self-determined tribal fish and wildlife management.
